Read More » The news follows close on the heels of a Dubai Airshow announcement that Air Lease Corporation had logged the first A350F sales with a Letter of Intent (LoI) to buy seven of the A350 freighters. Airbus said the latest order is due to be finalised in coming weeks and would lift CMA CGM’s Airbus fleet to nine aircraft, including five A330-200F freighters. Airbus chief commercial officer, Christian Scherer, said it was gratifying to receive an early endorsement for the A350F from an international “cargo powerhouse” such as CMA CGM Group. “The A350F will fit seamlessly into the carrier’s existing fleet of Airbus freighters,’’ he said. ”Thanks to its composite airframe and latest technology engines, it will bring unbeatable efficiency in terms of fuel burn, economics and CO2 emissions, empowering the long-term sustainable growth of the group.” The A350F features a large main deck cargo door, a fuselage length optimized for freight operations and a 109 ton payload capability.
