Read More » From January 30, VA plans to fly 53 services a week between the two cities with nine flights per week day on the 34-seat Saab turboprops. VA said the agreement with Canberra-based Link Airways will extend its network into markets its 737-800 jets cannot serve effectively. It will continue to evaluate new domestic destinations and opportunities after launching 15 new services since September, it added.

Virgin Australia Group CEO, Jayne Hrdlicka, said the “service will provide more than 16,000 seats each month between the two cities, which is welcome news for our corporate and leisure customers and particularly those in the government sector who regularly travel to and from Sydney”.
