Elbe Flugzeugwerke, a joint venture between Airbus and ST Engineering, has announced its A320 passenger-to-freighter aircraft, A320P2F MSN2737, completed its first flight at Singapore's Seletar Aerospace Park on Wednesday. Engine maker, Rolls-Royce, said in a trading update improved market conditions has supported the continued recovery of its civil aerospace business. "The gradual recovery in international flying combined with a market recovery in Power Systems and resilience in Defence are driving improvements in our trading performance," Rolls-Royce said.
Adelaide Airport has opened the doors to its new international arrivals hall, which features a second baggage belt and a larger immigration and security area. The international arrivals hall was the final stage of an A$200 million (US$143 million) terminal expansion project begun August 2018.
Australian Competition and Consumer Commission chair, Rod Sims, said yesterday the competition regulator would not oppose a A$23.6 billion (US$16.9 billion) proposed takeover of Sydney Airport by a consortium of investment funds known as the Sydney Aviation Alliance. Sims said Sydney Airport already was a natural monopoly and the transaction was unlikely to lessen competition "in a market that already has such little opposition".
