China suspends more routes due to Omicron

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has suspended Sichuan Airlines flights from Vancouver to Chengdu, United Airlines services from San Francisco to Shanghai, the China Southern Airlines routes from Nairobi to Changsha and five services flown by Lufthansa Airlines to China, including Frankfurt to Shanghai and Frankfurt to Shenyang. Read More » The suspensions were imposed after passengers on the services tested positive to the Omicron variant of COVID-19. Figures from the Reuters news agency, published late last week, showed that at January 14 the CAAC had suspended 74 international inbound flights following passengers testing positive to Omicron when arriving in China.
