Airbus launches cargo service with BelugaST transport aircraft

Airbus has launched a freight service using its fleet of BelugaST oversize transport aircraft. The first transport by Airbus Beluga Transport took place in late 2021, when an Airbus helicopter was delivered from France to Japan. The BelugaST fleet of five aircraft, based on the A300-600 design, has been used to transport large components to support Airbus airplane production. They are being gradually replaced by six new BelugaXL aircraft, based on the A330-200 freighter and powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 700 engines.
