Cathay Pacific Airways and Air China and the Shanghai airport and airport authority have established a joint venture company that will re-structure the operations and ownership of ground handling services at the city’s Pudong and Hongqiao airports. Read More » Partners in the new Shanghai International Airport Services Co. Ltd are Shanghai International Airport Co. Ltd (41%), Shanghai Airport Authority (10%), Air China (24%) and Hong Kong Airport Services (25%). The Hong Kong Airport Services is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Cathay Pacific. 

The new company, which is awaiting approval from China’s aviation authorities, is expected to start operations in the second half of this year, offering airlines and passengers more integrated, functional and IT ground handling services.
