New Zealand has brought forward the date its citizens and residents living anywhere in the world can return to the country to March 4 from March 13. Read More » Currently, only New Zealanders in Australia can travel to the country without entering government-managed quarantine. Separately, New Zealand’s minister for COVID-19 response, Chris Hipkins, said from today fully vaccinated travellers entering the country will not have to self-isolate for seven days upon arrival. “We are able to take these decisions because we have a highly vaccinated population and good public health restrictions through the COVID-19 Protection Framework in place," Hipkins said. "As the pandemic evolves, we are too." Under the nation’s roadmap for reopening its international border, which was announced last month, New Zealanders living overseas, skilled workers and working holiday visa holders are the first to be welcomed into the country, followed by travellers from Australia from July and the world at large by October.
