Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) capacity is expected to reach 70% of pre-COVID-19 levels by year-end amid a gradual reopening of international borders within the Asia-Pacific and across the world, local media has reported, citing a company spokesperson. Read More » Capacity at MAG's airline businesses – Amal, FireFly, Malaysia Airlines and MASWings – was at 23% of pre-COVID-19 levels in the first two months of 2022, the spokesman said. Earlier this week, Malaysia’s prime minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, said from April 1, the nation’s international border will be open for fully vaccinated foreign visitors to enter the country without quarantining upon arrival. Also, Malaysians will be permitted to leave and return to their country from that date.

In other MAG news, Malaysia Airlines has announced it will reintroduce fuel surcharges as a result of oil prices increases following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
