Boeing has sent a 737 MAX to its completion production line in Zhoushan China, according to media reports, citing unnamed industry sources. The aircraft, painted in the livery of China Eastern Airlines subsidiary, Shanghai Airlines, took off on Monday U.S. time. Should this aircraft be delivered, it will mark the first delivery of a 737 MAX to China since March 2019. China’s aviation regulator only recently cleared the 737 MAX to fly again after fatal crashes in 2017 and 2019 that killed 346 people and led to the global grounding of the aircraft type.
Menzies Aviation has renewed contracts with Aircalin, China Airlines, Fiji Airways and Thai Airways International and won new business to provide ground services, passenger and ramp services or air cargo handling services at a number of airports in Australia and New Zealand for Virgin Australia. It also is now a premium cargo terminal operator at three New Zealand airports.
Qantas Group has signed a contract to purchase about 20 million litres of blended sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) annually from U.S.-based Aemetis. Supply of SAF to the Australian airline company is due to begin in 2025. An Aemetis SAF production facility is under development in California.
