Qantas to launch Melbourne-Dallas Fort Worth on December 2

Qantas will start nonstop Melbourne-Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) flights from December 2, the Texas-based airport announced on the weekend. Read More » The Australian carrier plans to serve the route four times a week with 787-9s. “DFW Airport is pleased to welcome the Qantas non-stop service to Melbourne,” DFW Airport CEO, Sean Donohue, said. “Both regions are experiencing rapid growth and this addition will provide new opportunities for international business ties, tourism and economic development." Qantas will be the first airline to fly the route. The oneworld alliance member previously operated Sydney-Dallas Fort Worth-Brisbane-Sydney. It resumed nonstop Sydney-Dallas Fort Worth flights in February. The service was suspended after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In other Qantas Group news, the company said domestic travel demand has strengthened significantly since February and added capacity for Easter [2022] is forecast to reach 110% of pre-COVID levels compared with 40% in the second half of calendar 2021.
