Hong Kong Airport begins third runway flight checks

Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) said flight checks have commenced at Hong Kong International Airport's (HKIA) new third runway. Read More » The checks are being conducted in collaboration with the Special Administrative Region's Civil Aviation Department and the Flight Inspection Centre of Civil Aviation Administration of China. "The flight check is expected to be completed in April, with a view to ensuring related air navigation service equipment, flight procedures and the airfield ground lighting system fully meet the standards of the International Civil Aviation Organisation," AAHK said. "The third runway is scheduled to commence operations this year as planned," AAHK said.
