Read More » The A380 MSN1 departed Toulouse and flew for about three hours with one of its four Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines operating with 100% SAF. The SAF was supplied by TotalEnergies and produced from used cooking oil and other waste fats. A second flight is scheduled to occur overnight in the Asian time zone. "All Airbus aircraft are certified to fly with up to a 50% blend of SAF mixed with kerosene," Airbus said. "The aim is to achieve certification of 100% SAF by the end of this decade."
