AirAsia Malaysia boosts Singapore network with five new routes

AirAsia Malaysia will operate five new routes from Singapore and boost frequencies between the city state and Kuala Lumpur as travel restrictions ease. Read More » The LCC's Kuala Lumpur-Singapore service will increase to four times a day from April 16 compared with daily now. From April 17, it plans to operate daily Singapore-Kota Kinabalu flights as well as four times a week Singapore-Langkawi and three times weekly Singapore-Ipoh. Another two routes will be launched on May 1: four flights a week Singapore-Miri and a daily service linking Singapore with Kuching. "We hope the removal of travel restrictions with only minimal testing requirements will make vaccinated travelling easier for everyone," AirAsia Malaysia CEO, Riad Asmat, said. “AirAsia will continue to work closely with the Singapore government as the region transitions to an endemic phase of COVID-19. We look forward to mounting more flights connecting the republic and the rest of ASEAN."
In related news, AirAsia Aviation Group Limited (AAAGL) said its airlines had provided a cash refund or travel credit to more than three million bookings since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. It said 0.8% of the US$1.8 billion in refunds requested by guests was still outstanding.
