Read More » The oneworld alliance member's service from Santiago to Auckland and onwards to Sydney commenced late last week. Flight LA801, operated with 787-9 equipment, will fly the route three times a week until July and then increase frequency to five times a week. "If you look back to 2019, we had nearly 90,000 people arrive into New Zealand from South America – about half of those were from Brazil and Argentina alone. Those here then as visitors – roughly 60% of arrivals – tended to stay longer than average," Auckland Airport general manager of aeronautical commercial, Scott Tasker, said. “Not only is there now an easy option to fly between the three countries, but LATAM’s Santiago hub provides excellent connections to the rest of the continent."
