India reports 10.7 million domestic passengers for March

Indian airlines flew 10.7 million passengers on domestic flights in March, up 39%, month-on-month from the 7.7 million passengers they carried in February, figures from the country's Directorate General of Civil Aviation show. Read More » In addition to the month-on-month improvement, the March numbers were 36.7% higher than the 7.8 million domestic passengers transported by India’s airlines in March 2021. IndiGo was the country’s largest domestic airline for March with 5.9 million passengers, representing 54.8% of domestic market share, followed by GoFirst (1.04 million passengers, 9.8% market share) and SpiceJet (1.02 million passengers, 9.5% market share). Combined Air India/Alliance Air had 1.08 million passengers, or 10.2% market share.
