ANA HOLDINGS INC, the parent company of All Nippon Airways (ANA), has lowered its earnings forecast for fiscal 2022 after the Omicron virus dampened passenger demand. Read More » In a regulatory filing to the Tokyo Stock Exchange, the airline group said it expects to report a net loss for the 12 months to March 31, 2022 of 145 billion yen (US$1.1 billion) compared with its previous full-year forecast of a 100 billion yen loss. ANA's prediction for operating revenue was lowered to 1.02 trillion yen from 1.06 trillion yen previously. "While international cargo revenue remains strong, operating revenue is expected to be below the previous forecast because international and domestic passenger revenue was significantly lower than our estimate," ANA said. "This is, with the spread of the Omicron variant of novel coronavirus, due to the semi-emergency coronavirus prevention measures and Japan’s thorough border restrictions in the fourth quarter." ANA will report its full-year results on April 28. It posted a net loss of 404.6 billion yen on revenue of 728.6 billion yen last year.
