Air Lease Corporation (ALC) said in a regulatory filing to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission it expected to record a US$802.4 million write-off on its 21 owned and six managed aircraft still in Russia following the country's invasion of Ukraine. The write-off will be included in the company's financial report for the three months to March 31, 2022. The lessor said it was unlikely to regain possession of the aircraft.
Air travel services provider, dnata, has installed 6,500 solar panels at its Singapore Changi Airport facility. The system will generate more than 4,300 megawatt hours of power annually and reduce the company’s electricity-related carbon emissions in Singapore by 20% annually.
GE Aviation will partner with BAE Systems on the development of its megawatt class hybrid electric propulsion system. BAE Systems is providing the battery and related cabling that stores electricity and drives the motor/generator GE Aviation is building.
Malaysia's Petronas said its Petronas Technology Ventures business has signed a Memorandum of Collaboration with Aerodyne Oil and Gas Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Aerodyne Group, to explore opportunities for the deployment and commercialisation of drone-based solutions.
