Air New Zealand moving headquarters to Auckland Airport; building 10,000 square meter hangar

Air New Zealand (AirNZ) will shift its head office from Auckland’s central business district to the city's airport; a move calculated to reduce the company’s costs by 20% over the next 15 years. We are already paying for a precinct at the airport that has more than enough space to meet even our most ambitious growth projections," AirNZ CEO, Greg Foran, said. "With building costs increasing and our CBD leases coming to an end, this is the time to start on the work to bring our people together." The Star Alliance member will refurbish its airport campus with staff expected to move into the new headquarters in 2024. Air NZ also is building a 10,000 square metre hangar at the airport that will be able to house a 787 and two A320s side by side. Construction will begin on the project later this year.
