Goshawk shareholders approve SMBC Aviation Capital offer

Goshawk majority shareholders, Hong Kong’s NWS Holdings Ltd (NWS) and Chow Tai Fook Enterprises (CTFE) have accepted an offer from SMBC Aviation Capital to acquire substantially all of Goshawk’s commercial aircraft leasing business, excluding aircraft leased to Russian airlines. Read More »
Goshawk CEO, Ruth Kelly, said: “I confident this marks the beginning of an exciting chapter as market trends point to growth in aircraft leasing with great opportunities for people involved in aviation.”
“The ability to achieve an attractive valuation reflects what Goshawk has accomplished under the stewardship of its team and the shareholders,” NWS executive director and CEO, Eric Ma, said.
CTFE CEO, Patrick Tsang, said: “We are very excited about Goshawk’s next chapter with SMBC AC as they combine to become one of the top global aircraft leasing platforms.”
The acquisition, reported to be worth US$6.7 billion, is expected to close in the second half of this year.
