China Eastern Airlines crash caused by pilot actions? Wall Street Journal report

Read More » The aircraft crashed into a southern China hillside in the early afternoon of March 21 on a flight from Kunming to Guangzhou. The Wall Street Journal cited unnamed officials with knowledge of the data from the aircraft's flight recorders as the source of its story. Other media reports said investigators were looking at the actions of the flight crew and added there was no evidence of a technical problem on the flight. A preliminary report on the crash has been completed, but it has not been made public. Instead, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) published a summary of the report on April 21that said the qualifications of the flight crew, cabin crew and maintenance release personnel met requirements and the airworthiness certificate of the aircraft was valid.
