India’s IndiGo has named Pieter Elbers as the airline's next CEO. Read More » Elbers, the CEO of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, will join the India LCC on October 1. He will succeed 71-year-old Ronojoy Dutta, who is retiring on September 30 after four years at the IndiGo helm. “I am delighted to become a part of the next stage of IndiGo’s incredible journey, further fulfilling the vision of what the airline can do and will be for its customers and for India,” Elbers said. Dutta said: “I leave knowing IndiGo is in the good custody of Mr. Elbers and that the future for IndiGo employees is secure and bright. As I move to the next chapter of my life, I will look back with nostalgia, fondness and a tinge of separation regret.”
