Vietnam Airlines narrows losses to US$115 million for the quarter

Vietnam Airlines has reported a net loss of 2.6 trillion dong (US$115.2 million) for the three months to March 31 compared with a net loss of 4.1 trillion dong in the same months in 2021. While it was the Vietnam flag carrier's ninth consecutive quarterly loss, the improved bottom line reflects a recovery in the domestic market and efforts to cut costs, the airline said. However, the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and rising fuel prices weighed on the quarterly result, it added.
