SIA reports sustained and strong recovery for May

Read More » The May figure was more than 10 times the 119,600 passengers the group transported in the same month in 2021. “The strong recovery in air travel continued in May after Singapore relaxed border restrictions in April eliminating quarantine and on-arrival COVID-19 tests for fully vaccinated travellers and also removing pre-departure COVID-19 tests,” SIA said in its monthly traffic report. “Apart from North Asia, travel demand recovered rapidly across all route regions.” The airline group, Singapore Airlines and Scoot, said capacity, measured by available seat kilometres (ASK), reached 61% of pre-COVID-19 levels in May, an increase of four percentage points over April. The passenger load factor of 78.2% for the month was the highest recorded since the COVID-19 pandemic’s outbreak, SIA said.
