AirAsia X returning to Japan and Hawaii, flags London

The LCC also intends to launch services to Dubai, Istanbul and London at unspecified dates later in 2022. “Now international borders are reopening across the world, we can resume operations to our most popular destinations including Australia, Japan, Hawaii, India and South Korea first,” AAX CEO, Benyamin Ismail, said. “Today’s announcement of the resumption of four routes to Japan and Hawaii and for the launch flights to London, Istanbul and Dubai is just the beginning. We have many more destinations in the pipeline to soon announce to meet strong pent-up demand.” Dubai and Istanbul will be new destinations for the LCC. Pre-pandemic, the long-haul LCC served London with A340-300s into Gatwick and Stansted airports.
