India records 12.1 million domestic passengers for May

Read More » The May figure was close to six times more than the 2.1 million domestic passengers transported in the same month in 2021, figures from India's Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGCA) show. It is close to the pre-COVID-19 level of the 12.2 million passengers India's airlines flew on domestic services in May 2019. IndiGo was India's largest domestic airline for the month, with seven million passengers transported or 57.9% of domestic market share. GoFirst was second with 1.3 million passengers, or 10.6% of the in-country market, followed by SpiceJet (1.2 million passengers, 9.5% market share) and Vistara (983,000 passengers, 8.1% market share).
