AirAsia Thailand returning to Hong Kong, planning "pilot" Guangzhou service

It also will operate a “pilot” Don Mueang-Guangzhou service on July 13 to demonstrate its “readiness to serve routes to and from China” as soon as the Chinese government reopens its international border. “While the government of China has yet to fully accept foreign tourists, the relaxation of some measures has allowed the airline to restart its service and signals recovery for the country’s economy and tourism sector,” AirAsia Thailand CEO, Santisuk Klongchaiya, said. “These two routes provide us with an opportunity to welcome visitors to Thailand, already a very popular destination many China and Hong Kong travellers have been anticipating [to visit] for the last two years.”
