All Nippon Airways swaps two 777-9X orders for 777-8F freighters

ANA Holdings (ANA HD), the parent company of All Nippon Airways (ANA), has reached agreement with Boeing to convert orders for two 777-9Xs to 777-8Fs with the freighters expected to enter service by ANA's 2028 financial year. Read More » The revised deal has reduced ANA’s order for the 777-9X to 18 from 20 of the type. The airline company also has finalised a purchase agreement for 20 737 MAX 8s with 10 options first announced in 2019. Deliveries of the narrow-bodies to ANA are scheduled from fiscal 2025. “The announcement reflects ANA HD's plans to expand its cargo business by securing large freighters and also by replacing the domestic fleet's smaller planes with more fuel-efficient aircraft that will serve as the foundation for future growth,” the airline group said.
