Lion Air Group co-founder reaffirms commitment to 737 MAX

Lion Air Group chair, Rusdi Kirana, told reporters in Kuala Lumpur this week the airline group is continuing to take delivery of its 737 MAXs as demand for air travel increases. Read More » Kirana was speaking at the launch of the group’s rebranding of its Malaysia-based airline, Malindo Air, to Batik Air Malaysia. Other airlines in the Indonesian airline company are Lion Air, Wings Air and Thai Lion Air. Boeing’s website lists outstanding orders for 237 737 MAX family aircraft from the Indonesian conglomerate. Kirana said Batik Air Malaysia is scheduled to have 17 737 MAX 8s in its fleet by year-end from four of the type at press time.
