Malaysia Airports managing director reports improving international traffic

Passengers at its airports across the country were six times higher in the first half of calendar 2022, at 20.3 million, compared with the same months in 2021, Malaysia Airports reports. Read More » Managing director, Dato Iskandar Mizal Mahmood, said June international traffic numbers into Malaysia increased 21%, to 1.1 million, at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) compared with the previous month. It was the first time KLIA had surpassed one million international passengers a month since the outbreak of the pandemic. “Other international airports in our local network also have recorded increased passenger volumes in June ranging from 35% to 66% against May,” Dato Iskandar said. “We are confident this will improve as more airlines operate into our airports.”
