SIA Group tops two million passengers for first time since pandemic outbreak

SIA Group airlines flew 2.1 million passengers in July, up 7.5% from the 1.9 million travellers it carried in June. Read More » It was the first month the group’s two airlines, Singapore Airlines (SIA) and LCC Scoot, had flown above two million passengers in a month since March 2020. “The Singapore Airlines (SIA) group’s strong operating performance in the first quarter of fiscal 2022-2023 continued into July 2022,” the company informed the Singapore Exchange. “Demand for air travel remained robust during the [northern] peak summer season across every route region except East Asia where travel restrictions remain in some key markets. “Capacity was 67% of pre-COVID-19 levels for the reported month. Passenger load factor was 87.4% for the 31 days, the second highest monthly result in the airline group's history.

In pre-pandemic July 2019, the airline group flew 3.3 million passengers and recorded a passenger load factor of 85.8%.
