Thai Airways International has sold five A340s chief technical officer confirms

Thai Airways International (THAI) has found a buyer for five of its A340s, Thailand's The Nation has reported, quoting the airline's chief technical officer, Cherdphan Chotikhun. Read More » The A340-500 and four A340-600s were sold for 350 million baht (US$9.6 million). Cherdphan told The Nation a contract had been signed for the sale but he did not identify the buyer. THAI's aircraft trading website states the Star Alliance member has sold three A340-500s and six -600s with another of the type acquired by the Royal Thai Air Force. THAI also has six 777-200s, six 777-300s and two A380s for sale. The flag carrier is disposing of surplus aircraft and renewing its fleet as part of a court-approved restructuring accelerated by the pandemic.
