Cathay Pacific Airways and Hong Kong Polytechnic commit to cadet pilot training

Cathay Pacific Airways and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) have signed a three-year agreement offering an integrated course for the airline's cadet pilot training programme. This integrated course will provide world-class instruction and training for prospective pilots,” Cathay Pacific Airways CEO, Augustus Tang, said. The airline aims to train more than 1,000 cadet pilots by 2025. The first batch of 24 candidates of the program started their studies at PolyU in March. The Hong Kong-headquartered airline group has said it plans to hire 700 pilots in the next 18 to 24 months.
