Air New Zealand reports 927,000 domestic passengers for July

Air New Zealand (Air NZ) carried 927,000 passengers on its domestic network in July, down 2.8% from the 978,000 passengers it transported in the same month in 2021. Read More » Despite the year-on-year decline, the figure was up 5.6% from 878,000 passengers it flew in June. The Star Alliance member's monthly traffic report recorded a domestic passenger load factor for the 31 days of 88.7% compared with 81.8% in the year ago period. The increase in load factor was the result of an 11.9% reduction in capacity, measured by available seat kilometres. In an indication of the performance of New Zealand’s domestic air travel market, passengers transported in July 2022 were 5.9% above the 875,000 flown in pre-COVID July 2019.
