EVA Air records 50.7% month-on-month passenger expansion in August

EVA Air flew 232,199 passengers in August, up 50.7% month-on-month, from 154,055 passengers in July. Read More » The August numbers were more than eight times higher than the 27,963 passengers the Taiwan carrier flew in August 2021. The Star Alliance member's August passenger revenue of TW$3.8 billion (US$121.6 million) was up 39% from the TW$2.7 billion in July and was nearly four times the TW$977.8 million earned in the same month a year ago. The increase in passengers followed the Taiwan Central Epidemic Command Centre’s easing of travel restrictions for certain categories of travellers to Taiwan. In pre-COVID August 2019, EVA flew 1.2 million passengers and earned passenger revenue of TW$9.7 billion.
