BBN Cargo launches Indonesian cargo unit

BBN Cargo Airlines Holdings will establish a cargo carrier in Indonesia. Read More » The company has applied to local authorities for a business licence and an air operator certificate (AOC) for BBN Airlines Indonesia. It will be based at Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. “With the growth of exports and imports and rapidly expanding e-commerce Indonesia has a promising future for its air cargo and logistics industry,” BBN Cargo Airlines commissioner, Martynas Grigas, said. “Indonesia is the largest and fastest growing internet economy. It is expected to account for half of all e-commerce transactions in Southeast Asia by 2025. We see this as a great opportunity and are excited to develop a cargo airline to fulfil market needs.” BBN Cargo Airlines, the company behind Icelandic air cargo operator, Bluebird Nordic, expects to receive a business licence for BBN Airlines Indonesia by the close of 2022 and its AOC by June next year.
