China Airlines adds Southeast Asia frequencies, launching Cebu and Chiang Mai

Taiwan-headquartered China Airlines (CAL) will commence nonstop flights to Cebu and Chiang Mai as part of its strategy to boost transit traffic through its home hub in Taipei. Read More » The SkyTeam alliance member said Taipei-Cebu will operate from December 1 and Taipei-Chiang Mai will kick off on January 20. Both routes will be four times a week services flown with A321neo fitted with 12 business and 168 economy seats. Also, frequency will increase on existing regional routes. CAL's schedule to Bangkok, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Manila will rise to 14 times weekly from October and Singapore and Kuala Lumpur are planned to become daily. “China Airlines will continue to monitor the market and evaluate launching of routes,” CAL said in a September 14 statement.
