Inaugural Auckland-New York JFK nonstop service takes off

Air New Zealand (Air NZ) has commenced commercial operation of the fourth longest nonstop flight - Auckland-New York JFK – in the world. NZ2, flown by 787-9 ZK-NZN, departed Auckland a little after 1600 hours local time on Saturday and landed 16 hours and 15 minutes later at New York’s JFK airport. This is terrific for our customers.” At 7,671nm via the Great Circle Mapper, the route is behind Qantas Group’s Perth-London Heathrow (7,829nm) and Singapore Airlines’ Singapore-Newark (8,285nm) and Singapore-New York JFK (8,288nm).
