Akasa Air adds two destinations to network

India’s newest airline, Akasa Air, has named Guwahati and Agartala as the seventh and eighth destinations in its growing domestic network. Read More » The two cities will be served daily with a Bengaluru-Guwahati-Agartala routing. Flights will start on October 21. “Guwahati is the gateway to Assam and Agartala is one of the fastest growing cities in the region. We are pleased to enhance air connectivity to boost the immense potential of the region's aviation, industrial and tourism prospects,” Akasa Air chief commercial officer, Praveen Iyer, said. “Apart from flights between Bengaluru and Agartala, we will augment Bengaluru-Chennai by adding a fifth frequency on the route.” Akasa’s fleet is planned to be 18 737 MAX family aircraft by year-end.
