China Airlines finalises 787-9 order

China Airlines (CAL) has confirmed an order for 16 787-9s with options for another eight of the type. Read More » “We are excited to introduce the 787-9 Dreamliner to our operations as we upgrade our fleet with modern, fuel-efficient airplanes,” CAL chair, Hsieh Su-chien, said. “Adding the state-of-the-art 787 will reduce carbon emissions and provide our customers with unmatched levels of comfort. The 787's best-in-class efficiency and low operating costs will allow us to expand our network for years to come.” Taiwan’s flag carrier announced the Dreamliner order in August, adding at the time General Electric GEnx engines will power the aircraft. Deliveries will start from 2025.
