China Airlines to expand to Vietnam’s Da Nang from January

Taiwan’s China Airlines (CAL) is gearing up for its post-pandemic passenger recovery with the introduction on January 2 of five flights a week between Taipei and Vietnam’s Da Nang. Read More » The route will be flown by the flag carrier’s new A321neo and be an addition to CAL’s international network after the recent launch of direct Taipei to Cebu and Chiang Mai flights. CAL operated daily from Taipei to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi pre-pandemic. The airline is now flying up to 30 times a week between Taiwan and the U.S., tapping into the transit market of travellers moving between the two regions to visit relatives or study overseas, CAL said.
Also, from this month, Kaohsiung-Manila’s frequency will increase to three times weekly, Taichung-Ho Chi Minh will restart with four times a week direct service in November and Kaohsiung-Bangkok will resume in January.
The flag carrier is increasing passenger flights by 50% in Q4 and also will restart or launch to high potential destinations in Southeast Asia in coming months. Transit flights between North America/Europe and Southeast Asia, Europe and Oceania and from Oceania to Northeast Asia are being heavily promoted to improve passenger revenue, CAL said.
