AirAsia Malaysia has resumed nonstop Kuala Lumpur to Banda Aceh, Padang and Pekanbaru, lifting its Malaysia-Indonesia network to nine routes. Read More » A 10th destination, Bali-Penang, will begin on October 20. AirAsia Malaysia CEO, Riad Asmat, said the network expansion increased the LCC's schedule to Indonesia to 66 flights a week. “As an airline group with extensive connectivity in Asean and the Asia-Pacific, together with our affiliate, Indonesia AirAsia, we are thrilled to bring foreign tourists directly to various popular and underserved cities in Indonesia and Malaysia,” Asmat said. “We are confident these new services will be welcomed both ways and that they will provide numerous benefits to local communities from the multiplier effect of tourist spending and employment opportunities created.”
