Cathay Pacific welcomes Hong Kong government's commitment to aviation

Cathay Pacific CEO, Augustus Tang, welcomed the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government's ongoing support for the aviation sector outlined in the policy address delivered by the HKSAR chief executive, John Lee, on October 19. Read More » “Hong Kong has an important role to play in the overall development of the country under the National 14th Five-Year Plan, which notably reinforces the importance of strengthening the Hong Kong international aviation hub,” Tang said. Cathay Pacific supported the HKSAR government's efforts to reinforce intermodal transport links between Hong Kong and the rest of the Greater Bay Area through the integration of air, sea and land transport, he added. “We remain confident about the long-term future of our home hub. Our commitment to our home city remains as steadfast as ever,” Tang said. “We look forward to the growth and development Hong Kong and its aviation sector will see in the years to come.” Lee's policy address included a plan, starting next year, for the Hong Kong International Aviation Academy and Mainland aviation training institutions to establish cross-border airport sector internships for students of aviation.
