Qantas Group to operate six A380s by year-end

Read More » The airline grounded its 12 A380s after the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in early 2020. In August last year, it decided two of them would not return to the carrier. Joyce told a Sydney business lunch audience it took at least 4,500 hours, or 10 engineers working for two months, to bring a mothballed A380 back to service. After each A380 is authorised to fly out of storage, it must undergo another 100 days of maintenance, he said.
