SIA pays tribute to airline’s founding managing director, the late Lim Chin Beng

Read More » Lim was the first SIA managing director, holding the position for a decade from 1972. He then took on the role of SIA deputy chair from 1982 to 1996. “The Singapore Airlines (SIA) Group is saddened by the passing of Mr Lim Chin Beng,” SIA said. “On behalf of everyone in the Group, we express our deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones. Mr Lim’s visionary leadership and eye for detail shaped much of what is synonymous with the SIA brand today.” SIA said Lim will be remembered too for his mentorship of several generations of SIA employees, many of whom now hold senior leadership positions in the company. Lim also was chair of Changi Airports International (CAI) from 2007 to 2012. “During the earlier years of CAI’s internationalisation, Mr Lim provided leadership on the board and gave guidance to the management in navigating international markets,” Changi Airport Group said.
