Regional Express to add two 737-800s to fleet as revenue rebounds strongly

Australia's Regional Express (Rex) is on the hunt for two more 737-800s after recording strong revenue and passenger growth for its jet services. Read More » “Our domestic jet passenger numbers for the first three months of the fiscal year (to September 30) grew by 60%, 34% and 77%, respectively, compared with June 2022,” Rex executive chair, Lim Kim Hai, said: “Revenue growth has been even stronger at 84%, 47%, and 137% for the same months, suggesting significant yield improvement.” In the first half of October, Rex passengers for its 737-800 routes were up 16% month-on-month. Revenue increased 35% on 13% more flying. “In response to the strong demand, we are actively looking for another two 737-800NGs to expand our domestic jet services,” Lim said.
