Thai LCC reports 2.8 million passengers for September quarter

Thai AirAsia (TAA) flew 2.8 million passengers in the three months to September 30, a substantial improvement from the 79,767 passengers it carried in the same quarter in 2021 and up 63.6% from 1.7 million passengers transported in the June [2022] quarter. Read More » Capacity, or available seat kilometres (ASK), rose 58.1% quarter-on-quarter and passenger load factor improved 12 percentage points to 87%. Asia Aviation Plc, the parent company of TAA, said the LCC’s international capacity recovered 43% in the three months against the pre-pandemic 2019 third quarter. “The airline industry, along with other hospitality sectors in Thailand, continued its strong recovery as major countries remove travel restrictions, unfolding pent-up travel demand,” Asia Aviation said.
