Qantas Group chair reaffirms interim earnings guidance

At the Qantas Group annual general meeting on November 4, chair Richard Goyder reaffirmed the airline group’s earnings guidance of an underlying profit before tax ranging from A$1.2 billion (US$769.78 million) and A$1.3 billion for the six months to December 31. Read More » “When you consider the first half of last year was a similarly sized loss, it’s a turnaround of almost A$3 billion,” Goyder said. Qantas Group CEO, Alan Joyce, told shareholders revenue from leisure bookings had reached 130% of pre-COVID-19 levels and the figure was 100% for business travel. Joyce added the group's operations, which experienced significant issues with flight cancellations, delays and lost baggage, had reached or were “quickly approaching” pre-COVID-19 levels of service.
