India and Canada expand reciprocal air rights to unilateral access

Canada and India have broadened their air transport agreement to unlimited flights between the two countries, effective immediately. Read More » Previously, Canadian and Indian carriers were limited to 35 flights a week. The agreement covers Canadian carriers’ traffic rights to Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai. India’s airlines now have access to Edmonton, Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver and two additional points India has yet to identify. “We are pleased to expand this relationship with additional flexibility for airlines to serve this growing market,” Canada’s transport minister, Omar Alghabra, said. “By making the movement of goods and people faster and easier, it will facilitate trade and investment between Canada and India and help our businesses grow and succeed.”
