China Eastern Airlines domestic passengers decline 28.7% in October

China Eastern Airlines (CEA) carried 3 million air travellers on its Mainland network in October, down from the 4.2 million domestic customers it flew in September. Read More » In addition to the demand fall-off, the results were 57.9% below the 7.1 million passengers CEA transported in October 2021. Domestic passenger load factor for the 31 days was 66.2% compared with 68.7% in September and 65% in the year-ago period. The company again warned COVID-19 was having a significant impact on its business and that great uncertainty remained about the timespan and severity of the pandemic. In pre-COVID October 2019, the SkyTeam airline flew 9.4 million domestic passengers and had a load factor of 83.7%.
