Virgin Australia applies for Qatar Airways to codeshare on Bali and New Zealand routes

Virgin Australia (VA) has applied to Australia's International Air Services Commission (IASC) for Qatar Airways to codeshare on its flights to New Zealand. Read More » “Virgin Australia intends to commence free sale code share services, as an operating carrier with Qatar Airways, on all its services between Australia and New Zealand in 2023,” the airline's application to the manager of Australia's air traffic rights, said. “Virgin Australia also will continue to offer codeshare services on the New Zealand route with its alliance partners, Etihad Airways, Singapore Airlines, Air Canada and Hawaiian Airlines.” Separately, VA has sought approval for Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines to codeshare on its flights between Australia and Denpasar (Bali), again as part of a free sale codeshare agreement.
